Bernice Booker:
Co-President

Hi, my name is Bernice Booker. I have been a part of the ICSAtlanta Community for six years. My daughter is a 6th grader in the Spanish track. The diversity and culture our school has built is something I’m thrilled to be a part of.

I see ICSAtlanta as an extension of my village. I have been a Room Parent for many years, and I am passionate about making our teachers and staff feel valued. As the President of the PTO, I seek to find ways to help build some margin, to give teachers back some of their time and create more joy for our staff and teachers, while also contributing to the connectedness of the ICSAtlanta community.

Rachel Romo:
Co-President

Hi!  My name is Rachel Romo.  My husband Rafael and I have three miraculous little treasures, two of whom are currently attending ICSAtlanta.  Evan (6th Grade) and Ian (3rd Grade) are in the Spanish track and love their teachers and school so much!  We have a little girl, Mila, who hopes to join them soon. We were so blessed to find the ICSAtlanta community when we moved to this area in 2021! I currently stay home with my kids and devote myself full-time to managing household logistics and kids (fun times all around!)

As Co-President of the PTO, it is my privilege to use my skills to benefit our school, administrators, teachers and our beautiful ICSAtlanta community.  I have an extensive background in non-profit management, development and operations.  I hope to give back to our school community a bit of what our family has received, and I love supporting our school through being a part of a vibrant and committed PTO.

Dana Bryant:
VP of Community Relations

Hello, I’m Dana Bryant.  I have a daughter at ICSAtlanta in the French track (6th grade), and my son graduated from the Mandarin track in 2020, as part of the first ICSAtlanta 8th grade class.

Our family is rooted in multiculturalism–my husband was a student of Capoeira & Portuguese for many years & I lived abroad as a child in a military family.  Our kids have thrived at ICSAtlanta –and I am thrilled for the opportunity to be part of the PTO Board.

I’m currently an Educational Analyst at Emory University, and have worked in higher education for the past 15 years. I’ve also served as a School Governance Council (SGC) Parent Representative for a metro-Atlanta public elementary school.

As VP of Community Relations, my goal is to support the school in deepening our staff-student-family village. I have long admired our school’s community and try to build upon our dynamic and inclusive ways to be involved.

My youngest, Emilia (4), will be joining when her time to become a Kindergartener arrives!

I currently work as Senior Manager in the Modeling and Valuation practice of Deloitte and have been with the firm for over 13 years!

I am in love with our school, wonderful teachers and community, and I am grateful my kids are exposed to various cultures and languages. I am excited to serve as Co-VP of Special Programs as I would like to make a difference in the lives of our dedicated staff and teachers!

I am a full-time stay-at-home mother, and, I work part-time with a health home care agency where we provide help for elder people.
I am excited to serve as Co-VP of Special Programs with the PTO because I would like to be a part of giving back to our teachers and the administrators all the love and care that they give to our children.
It is my privilege to use my customer service skills and my love for helping people to benefit our school and our community.

Nathalie Shaffer:
Co-VP of Student Enrichment

¡Hola! I’m Nathalie Shaffer. I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela.I’m a ICSA parent since 2017 when my oldest daughter Emilie joined the school in Kindergarten Spanish Track. My son Max followed shortly after. As a multicultural family, we wanted to offer our children the opportunity to grow and learn in a language-diverse environment to help them become Citizens of the World. However, ICSAtlanta has given us more than that: we’ve found community, friendship, and reasons.
I am an engineer, I like numbers, cooking, and doing. I’m passionate about Sustainability and believe in Reduce + Reuse + Recycling + Composting. As Co-VP of Student Enrichment, I seek to help teachers and students have a great working and learning environment in the most sustainable way.

Carla Gonzalez:
Co-VP of Student Enrichment

Hi! My name is Carla Gonzalez. I was born and raised in Lima Peru, and moved to GA in 2002. My husband Luis and I have 3 amazing and very active boys. My oldest, Luis Enrique, is 11 years old, and he is in the 6th grade Spanish track. Lorenzo, our middle child, is 4 years old, and attends the Spanish Academy. Leonardo, our youngest, is 1.

We love to spend time together playing sports, listening to loud music, and watching movies. I’m a full-time stay-at-home mom, although I work as a medical interpreter, on a per request needed basis.

I have been part of the ICSAtlanta family for 7 years, and what I love the most about our school is the diversity, the appreciation of other cultures, and the opportunity to learn different languages. I am happy to be part of the PTO team and to be able to help our school, the great teachers, and the students.

Perla Brito:
VP of Fundraising

Hi, My name is Perla Brito. I am from Mexico, and I love to spend time with my family and friends, travel, and experience different cultures.

I have 2 boys in the Spanish Track: Fernando (6th grader) and Santiago (4th grader). Both of them have been at the school since Kindergarten, and we all absolutely love the school, the teachers and the community we are part of. I have volunteered my time as a Room Parent as well as in the Book Fairs.

As the VP of Fundraising, I try to find more efficient ways to help achieve the PTO’s goals. I have a degree in Entrepreneurship, and I work as a Commercial Real Estate Agent, as well as run my online Jewelry Store in my free time. Serving on the PTO gives me the opportunity to support our school and our wonderful teachers.

Lia Balanag:
Secretary

Hello! My name is Lia Balanag, and I’ve been part of the ICSAtlanta community for the last 7 years. I have two boys in the Spanish track – a 7th grader and a 1st grader.  The international mission of ICSAtlanta is one that is near and dear to my heart. I was born and raised abroad living in several countries around Europe and Latin America before settling in the US. I’ve continued fueling my passion for travel and culture through a successful +20 year career across various global hospitality brands.

I truly love our school and believe in finding ways to support our teachers and staff as I’m able to. This is not the first time I’ve served on the board; I was the co-VP of Fundraising in 2019 & 2020. I’ve also been a room parent for at least 5 years, and have volunteered at many events. I stay involved and contribute as best as I can to continuing the mission of our school and supporting our community.

Andrew Roth:
Treasurer

Hello! My name is Andrew. I’m currently the Chief of Staff for the Roth House. We have a 3rd grader, a 2nd grader, and a Kindergartener, all in the Spanish track at ICSAtlanta, as well as a preschooler. So we plan to be at ICSAtlanta for a looooooong time.

I was an accountant in a former life and spend half my time getting our own budget under control. These roles have prepared me to fulfill the duties of PTO Treasurer.

I enjoy video games and playing outside with my kids (as long as it doesn’t take too much energy…)

We love ICSAtlanta, and I am happy to serve on the PTO Board!
