Meet the ICSAtlanta 2025-2026 PTO Board

Bernice Booker: Co-President

Hi, my name is Bernice Booker. I have been a part of the ICSAtlanta Community for eight years. My daughter is a rising 8th grader in the  Spanish track, and my son is a rising 1st grader.

The diversity and culture our school has built is something I’m thrilled  to be a part of.

I see ICSAtlanta as an extension of my village. I have been a Room  Parent for many years, and I am passionate about making our  teachers and staff feel valued.

I seek to stay on as Co-President of the PTO to create continuity for a  board with many new members. I will continue to find ways to lead  with positivity, looking for ways to help build margin, to give teachers  back some of their time and create more joy for our staff and  teachers, while also contributing to the connectedness of the  ICSAtlanta community.

Staci Beese: Co-President

Bonjour! My name is Staci, and I have a rising 1st grader in the French track. This past year, I had the pleasure of serving as a room parent, substitute teacher and volunteer at ICSAtlanta.

As an international family, we feel incredibly fortunate that my son can attend such a diverse and supportive school that truly reflects our values, right here in my hometown. It has brought us immense joy to be a part of the ICSAtlanta community, we’ve made wonderful friends and genuinely feel at home here!

With over 20 years of experience in international education and cultural exchange, and having lived in six countries, along with my background as a project manager, I’m deeply passionate about collaboration and learning. I’m excited for the chance to support this amazing school by serving as Co-President on the PTO board!

Karen Nelson: Co-Vice President of Community Relations

Hi! My name is Karen Nelson. My husband, Aaron, and I have three children: David (9, 4th grade), Teddy (8, 2nd grade), and Alice-Grace (5, Kindergarten). All three are in the Spanish track.

I work part-time as a preschool teacher at our Church’s Day School. I
have been a room parent for many years and previously served on the PTO Board from 2021 to 2023. I am thrilled to return and serve our school community again!

As VP of Community Relations, my goal is to support both the school
and the community. I plan to combine my skills and talents with the rest of the PTO Board members so that together, we can create a
better learning environment for our children.

Carla Gonzalez: Co-Vice President of Community Relations

Hi! My name is Carla Gonzalez. I was born and raised in Lima Peru,  and moved to GA in 2002. My husband Luis and I have 3 amazing and  very active boys. My oldest, Luis Enrique, is 12 years old, and he is in  the 6th grade Spanish track. Lorenzo, our middle child, is 5 years old,  and attends the Spanish Academy. Leonardo, our youngest, is 2.

We love to spend time together playing sports, listening to loud  music, and watching movies. I’m a full-time stay-at-home mom,  although I work as a medical interpreter, on a per request needed  basis.

I have been part of the ICSAtlanta family for 8 years, and what I love  the most about our school is the diversity, the appreciation of other  cultures, and the opportunity to learn different languages.

I am happy to be part of the PTO team and to be able to help our  school, the great teachers, and the students.

Poonam Flores: Co-Vice President of Special Programs

I’m Poonam. My husband Luis and I have two children, Xavier (10) and  Elani (6), both currently at ICSAtlanta.

We have been in the school for 5 years now. We chose and love it for  the IB program, the language opportunities, and the multicultural  nature of the school. We hope to be here through to the end!

I love to support the school, teachers and staff wherever possible,  whether it’s as a room parent, volunteer or just a parent because I  believe that the good karma trickles down to all our children. Happy  teachers, happy kids!!
I look forward to continuing to serve in the PTO to be able to continue  to support our school!

Rosario Gobea Katis: Co-VP of Special Programs

My name is Rosario Gobea Katis and I am from Peru. I have been at  ICSAtlanta for the past six years. I have three children all at  ICSAtlanta: Brandon, in 7th grade; Naomi, in 4th grade; and Aiden, in  1st grade.

I am really grateful to be part of ICSAtlanta. I love our  school and our community. I love the fact that it is a multicultural  community which is helping me to teach my kids to be open-minded,  to enjoy other cultures, and to see different points of view.

I am a full-time stay-at-home mother, and I work part-time with a  health home care agency where we provide help for elder people.
I am excited to continue to serve as Co-VP of Special Programs with  the PTO because I would like to be a part of giving back to our  teachers and the administrators all the love and care that they give to  our children.
It is my privilege to use my customer service skills and my love for  helping people to benefit our school and our community.

Ashley Pierce: Co-Vice President of Student Enrichment

Hi! I’m Ashley Pierce and I’ve been a part of the ICSAtlanta  community for two years. My daughter is a rising 2nd grader in the  Spanish track, and I’m excited to have a rising kindergartener in the  same program. We were drawn to ICSAtlanta by our passion for  raising bilingual children and the school’s incredible diversity, as well  as its loving and welcoming community.

I work from home in Marketing for a healthcare system, and I’m  excited to bring my skills to the Student Enrichment position. I’m  passionate about raising my children—and their village—to be good  citizens of the world.
In this role, I look forward to supporting our administration, teachers,  and students, and enhancing the ICSAtlanta experience for everyone.

Brittony Swiedler: Co-Vice President of Student Enrichment

Hi, my name is Brittony Swiedler. My daughter Eloise is in 1st grade  Spanish track, and we love the school’s multiculturalism and  language immersion! I have had the opportunity to volunteer as Room  Parent last year, and this year I decided to become a substitute  teacher at our school.

I’m excited be Co-VP of Student Enrichment because through  substitute teaching, I have had the opportunity to be in the  classrooms and get a feel for how different teachers use tools to  better help their students learn and thrive. I’d love the opportunity to  help teachers get the tools they need without it coming out of their  own pockets.

I am primarily a stay-at-home mom, but BE (Before Eloise), I was a  manager, curriculum developer, and teacher for an after school and  summer camp STREAM enrichment program for many years. That  experience taught me so much about the impact of a lesson getting  hands-on, and I’d love to facilitate more opportunities for that in the  classrooms at ICSAtlanta.

Paola Tapia: Vice President of Communications

I’d love to be part of the PTO at ICSAtlanta and bring consistent  communication and engagement to our school community. I recently  served as VP of Communications/Social Media Manager at Alpharetta  Elementary PTO for the past two years, and really enjoyed helping  families stay connected and involved.

I was born in Bolivia and speak Spanish, so I understand how  important it is to make communication accessible and inclusive for  all families. I’d be excited to support ICSAtlanta PTO in that way and  help build a strong sense of community.

Rachel Romo: Co-Vice President of Fundraising

Hi! My name is Rachel Romo. My husband Rafael and I have three  miraculous little treasures, two of whom are currently attending  ICSAtlanta. Evan (7th Grade), Ian (4th Grade) and Mila (Kindergarten)  are in the Spanish track and love their teachers and school so much!

We were so blessed to find the ICSAtlanta community when we  moved to this area in 2021! I currently stay home with my kids and  devote myself full-time to managing household logistics and kids (fun  times all around!)

I aim to continue service, it is my privilege to use my skills to benefit  our school, administrators, teachers and our beautiful ICSAtlanta  community. I have an extensive background in non-profit  management, development and operations. I hope to give back to our  school community a bit of what our family has received, and I love  supporting our school through being a part of a vibrant and committed  PTO.

Andrew Roth: Treasurer

Hello! My name is Andrew. I’m currently the Chief of Staff for the Roth  House. We have a 5th grader, a 4th grader, a 2nd grader and a  Kindergartener, all in the Spanish track at ICSAtlanta. So we plan to  be at ICSAtlanta for a looooooong time.

I was an accountant in a former life and spend half my time getting  our own budget under control. These roles have prepared me to fulfill  the duties of PTO Treasurer.

I enjoy video games and playing outside with my kids (as long as it  doesn’t take too much energy…)

We love ICSAtlanta, and I am happy to serve on the PTO Board!
